Afrikaans
Waar by die skool?
English
A spotted brown bird with long legs, big yellow eyes and thick "knees". It eats insects, snails and other small creatures, mostly at night.
Where at school? In the daytime it stands or lies very still on open ground – its colours make it almost invisible.
Did you know? Those thick "knees" are actually its ankles! Its big eyes help it see well in the dark.
